Barry Keoghan and Alyson Kierans’ world was under the blissful horizon until July 2023 when the couple reportedly called it quits.
The 31-year-old actor began dating Alyson, a dental nurse and orthodontic therapist and made their red carpet debut in October 2021. A year later in August 2022, the duo welcomed their son Brando. A month into his role as a new dad, Keoghan uploaded a sweet black and white photo with the baby on his Instagram page relishing the new opportunity.
In 2021, Keoghan met Kierans in a club where she had no clue of who the actor was. “She didn’t care,” said Keoghan in an interview the coupe did with GQ. Kierans also explained how her boyfriend could only take one day off from filming “Saltburn” for their baby’s planned C-section. “Barry’s lucky that I’m a Scottish, independent woman,” she told the publication.
However, all was not well. A report was published in July 2023 claiming the couple had called it quits. It had been rumoured that Barry and Alyson have been arguing over his ‘late night partying’.
‘They’ve grown apart over recent months and things have finally come to a head,’ a source told The Sun. ‘[Barry’s] partying caused arguments.’
Months post the reports of the breakup more information about Keoghan’s activities surfaced. According to The Sun on January 13, 2024, Keoghan was kicked out of a Malmaison hotel bar in Scotland in May 2023 — which would have been only a couple of months before he split from Kierans. “Staff asked him to leave after he started misbehaving in front of other guests at the bar,” a source recalled to The Sun. “He seemed in good spirits though and was trying to convince the bartenders that he had been in ‘The Batman’ movie which he plays a brief role in and is uncredited for,” the insider said.
Just days before the news circulated, Keoghan seemingly confirmed his breakup in a January 2024 interview with GQ. “She’s done a great job and she’s an incredible mother,” he said, with the outlet noting the actor did not expand on his relationship with Kierans.
A day later, Kierans’ mother spoke about the former couple, stating, “They’re on talking terms and need to be for wee Brando.“
“Barry had the decency to give Alyson the heads up about his new girlfriend,” Kierans’ mother added. Around the same time the breakup confirmation reports surfaced, Keoghan was making headlines for a new romance.
It was in December 2023, that Keoghan was spotted out on a dinner date with singer Sabrina Carpenter in Los Angeles. While at the time there was no confirmation on the relationship between The Banshees of Insherin actor and the 24-year-old singer, the duo has been spotted together quite a few times to keep the speculative fire alive.
Recently, at Carpenter’s debut at Coachella, her rumored boyfriend attended her concert and showed support for his multi-talented singer girlfriend.
